Melwa Group Cement factory to develop adjoining HIP

The Melwa Group whose core business is in construction steel, galvanized products and pharmaceuticals is in talks with HIP on their latest venture to build a cement factory in Hambantota.  The company met with the CEO, Johnson Liu and a senior delegation from HIP and is in the process of forwarding their business proposal to HIP, for the use of the Hambantota International Port (HIP) to import raw materials for the manufacture of cement in their new plant located outside of the Hambantota International Port.  The Plant will have an initial capacity of approximately 1.3 million MTs.  HIPG is currently studying the proposal.
