With a deep water draft of 17m the Hambantota International Port has the capability to handle large vessels, as well as multipurpose cargo. We also have the necessary infrastructure, equipment and workforce to handle bulk, breakbulk and project cargo. We are able to service any vessel at any time, due to our 24/7 navigational and operational services.
Hambantota International Port is envisioned to become a tran-shipment hub, as well as a logistics hub for cargo consolidation in the region. Achieving this vision is a distinct possibility due to our strategic location, proximity to the Bay of Bengal and emerging markets surrounding the Indian Ocean, deep water terminal facility, as well as the number of trade agreements which the Government of Sri Lanka has entered into with many countries.
