HIP Officials visit EWIS Manufacturing Facility
The Hambantota International Port (HIP) is stepping up its promotion of the port's industrial park facilities amongst local entrepreneurs. The first in line to be visited by HIPG CEO; Johnson Liu, COO; Tissa Wickramasinghe and Senior AGM Commercial and Marketing; Bindu Ranasinghe was Sri Lankan IT products manufacturing facility EWIS, located in Sooriyawewa. The HIP team met with EWIS Chairman Sanjeewa Wickramanayake, COO; Nirmal Pieris and AGM; Ranjith Kumar at the plant, where the company produces a wide range of IT related hardware from laptops, computer monitors, tablets to smartboards.
In the coming month of May, EWIS plans on commencing their new TV production line and the visiting HIP officials closely observed how the company ran their production facility using modern technology. It was a successful visit at the end of which CEO Johnson Liu extended an invitation to the Chairman of EWIS to build their next manufacturing facility within the HIP industrial park. The EWIS chairman who has responded positively, is scheduled to do a familiarisation tour of the industrial park and port during the first week of May.
